I am excited to show you all pictures of our baby boy’s adventure nursery! We have been on hiatus since before our baby Lukas was born, but it is time to get back on track! For his nursery, we wanted to portray an atmosphere that would help to develop his sense of adventure. I do like woodland nurseries, but I wanted something a little more unique and a little more “us”. We are slightly limited on what we can do since we are currently in a rental property, so we will definitely be giving you an update after we move into a new home. Until then, I hope this adorable nursery will give you creative ideas for your own baby’s room.
Inspiration for Adventure-Explore Theme
I love blue and green colors for a boy’s room. Before picking out anything else, we chose color swatches to help with the theme. I looked online and decided to use Valspar paint, and they have a great color selector on their website. The colors I came up with were white, blue, green, and yellow. I ended up adding gray and not using much yellow or white, but that may change later.
Once I had the colors picked out, I started looking for decorations and furniture that would fit the theme. After a lot of time spent on Pinterest, I found a few pictures to use as inspiration for the theme. I loved the furniture that was used in the “Outdoor Adventure Nursery” post. I definitely would have purchased that exact crib and dresser if I had not already purchased a crib. However, I do love how our nursery turned out!
Original Outdoor Adventure Nursery
We have changed the nursery a bit since it was originally set up, but I will show you that in another post! First, I want you to see how it was initially put together. As you can see, we didn’t stick with the color scheme because I found it was a little more difficult that I imagined. However, I will continue to look for more pieces within the color scheme for our new place. Unfortunately, we also have more decor that we didn’t have room for in this house. In the new place, I want to put a shelf or two on the wall, too.
We made the signs above his crib and shelf, so look forward to a DIY post to make those yourself! Also, I would love to paint his room white or a very light, true gray. I can’t wait to do so when we move into our new home. Hopefully the new house will come with a bigger nursery and better layout so I can rearrange everything. We made the wood art sign to go over his crib, but when we got all of the furniture in his room it just didn’t work out as we planned due to the room set up.
What do you think of the nursery? Please leave a comment and/or share on Pinterest! I think this style could easily be tailored to a girl’s as well as a boy’s nursery or playroom. I would love to hear your thoughts! If you like this post, check out our similar posts here.
